Le bâtiment s’inscrit dans un projet d’extension faisant suite à un incendie ayant détruit une bonne partie du site déjà existant du refuge SPA de la commune de Poulainville. Il s’agissait donc de remplacer des bâtiments modulaires de substitution par des bâtiments pérennes pour concilier rapidité, respect des normes environnementales, fonction architecturale et méthode constructive propre. L’extension du projet comprend donc un ensemble de boxs dédiés aux chiens de 250 m² et un bâtiment administratif de 330 m². Ce nouvel édifice construit tout en bois, se divise en quatre corps de bâtiment, un de section rectangulaire sur deux niveaux et les trois autres de section longitudinales à rez de chaussée. La typologie des toitures reprend celle d’une forme de sheds et les façades sont habillées de bardages «Eternit». Quant aux pignons, ils sont composés d’éléments translucides en polycarbonate de couleur. Le bâtiment en adéquation optimale avec son environnement trouve sa place dans le paysage et confère au lieu une identité originale. Le projet a permis de relever un défi thermique en terme d’économie d’énergie (réduction des couts sur du long terme) avec optimisation de la ventilation et du chauffage.
Le bâtiment était soumis aux caractéristiques RT2055 mais a permis de relever un défi thermique en terme de gestion des réseaux, d’acoutsique et d’enveloppe puisqu’il répond aux règlementations thermiques RT2012.

The building is part of an extension project due to a fire that destroyed a large part of the existing site of the RSCPA located in Poulainville. The aim was therefore to replace the modular buildings substitution by perennial buildings in order to create a symbiosis between speed, environmental compliance, architectural function and effective constructive method. The extension project includes a set of 250 m² boxes dedicated to dogs and 330 m² office building. This new building entirely made of wood, is divided into four main linked buildings, one of a rectangular shape with two levels and three along the main one only at ground floor. The roof typology is shed shaped and the facades are covered with fiber cement cladding. The gable-ends are composed of translucent elements made of colored polycarbonate. The building in accordance with its environment is well integrated in the landscape and gives the place a unique identity.The project has tackled a thermal challenge in terms of energy saving (reduction of costs in the long term) with optimization of ventilation and heating.

The building was subject to the RT2005 features but has raised a thermal challenge in terms of networks management, acoutsique and built-up area since it complies with the regulations RT2012. The shelter beeing designed to accommodate the public and many animals, it was important for the staff to work in quiet and optimal conditions.
